Gangetic dolphins are the national aquatic animal of India. It is also known as fresh water dolphins. Mainly found in the Ganges, Indus, Yangtze and Amazon Rivers. South Asian rivers such as Ganga, Bramhaputra, Meghna is the main habitat of these dolphins. Their strength has drastically decreased in the last few years due to anthropogenic activities. They have been put under the IUCN list of endangered species.
